A Review of the Inclusive City: Focusing on the Experience of Seoul
The inclusive city is a city where everyone participates in and form interdependent relationships, co-existence, symbiosis, and co-prosperity without being excluded from the political, economic, social, and cultural areas of life. Over the past decade, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has been working towards implementing inclusive urban policies to help the socially disadvantaged and improve their quality of lives. One of the policies is "village making" project, which is based on bottom-up participation. The Seoul Metropolitan Government is incorporating various policies to embrace the socially disadvantaged, including children, the elderly, women, and the disabled, by utilizing smart technologies.
